01.11.10. - 5 CONSECUTIVE #1s @ JUNO, WE7, EMUSIC, LALA & AUDIOJELLY

3kStatic hit #1 on digital album charts with three concurrent releases in December 2009, and continues the trend with the recently-released digital compilation of remixes Remixes, 2006-2009 now #1 on the IDM chart at lala.com; Top Ten in multiple genres at eMusic and #10 on the Electro House album ch

art at
Juno.

Paced by December 8 2009 release
Collaborations, 2006-2009, which soared immediately into the Top 10 at eMusic.com and today also took over #1 (Rock/Indie) at British digital music retailer Junodownload.com; the band also sees the digital release of the album Evolver move to #1 (IDM) at lala.com. The album was previously being available only as part of their Sony Creative Software release Evolver: Distinctive Electronica.

Not Art (released 12.29) - which includes both new original tracks as well as reworkings from the 2009 release Evolver - also has hit #1 at lala, #9 at Juno and #3 at eMusic this week.

In addition, 'Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle' - the reworking of the Electric Light Orcehstra classic and featuring Orchestra/ELO, Part II alum Parthenon Huxley on guitar and vocals - enters the Cashbox Magazine Canada Dance charts at #10 this week, marking the second conseuctive 3kStatic single to chart
Top 10 at cashbox/ZipDJ.

Meanwhile, the group's 2008 digital double album
Voodoo Science has again hit #1 on the Experimental Dance charts at UK-based We7.com. Further, Collaborations, 2006-2009 is also a featured release at a third UK-based AudioJelly.com, where the band last year notched 14 charting tracks from Voodoo Science.

3kStatic also is currently the overall #1 artist (Electronic IDM) and this week the #4 Fastest Rising act in electronic music overall at lala.com, the innovative music store purchased by Apple Computer in the past week.

Featuring tracks recorded with Huxley, Vile Evils, Kevin Max, Professor Griff and many more, Collaborations 2006-2009 is a veritable feast of electronic freak-rock. Releasing on the eve of the band's 11th anniversary on the underground electronic scene, Collaborations 2006-2009 chronicles a prolific period in 3kStatic studio activity, hopefully with positive results.

12.05.09 - EVOLVER (DIGITAL VERSION) HITS #1 AT LALA.COM
SEE ALSO • Evolver reviewed in Electronic Musician + EM Podcast

Previously available exclusively on the Sony 2-CD set Evolver: Distinctive Electronica (including the full sound and loop library from the album); the dPulse digital release of the 3kStatic album Evolver moves to #1 (IDM) at lala.com, after debuting at #3 earlier in the week. The album also entered the charts at #3 at eMusic (Leftfield), and is also the featured new release at Rhapsody.com.

Evolver includes 11 original tracks, featuring collaborations with Kevin Max (DC Talk), Robert Bond (Les McCann), Randy Garcia and David Manion (Kansas, Seventh Key); and also features the Cashbox Magazine Canada / zipDJ Top 10 Dance single 'Projected Tones'.

Evolver
is the second consecutive 3kStatic album release to hit #1 at lala.com, following Voodoo Science, which held the #1 spot on the IDM charts at the popular new digital music store for an unprecedented 30 weeks.

Evolver: Album + Loop Library

SONY FEED / EVOLVER: Evolution: a process of formation and growth; a pattern formed by a series of movements. In music, it describes the process of creative reinvention, which is why we've titled this library Evolver: Distinctive Electronica. From nomadic techno excursions and house music bangers to glitch guitar serenades and crunk ruminations, Evolver opens wormholes to electronica's storied past and gives fresh clues to lead you into its possible futures. Souled-out six-strings wail, 808s bounce, synthesizers attack from all angles, and bass bubbles up from the underworld in these ten explosive construction kits.. Eclectic eccentrics 3kStatic are joined here by a host of guest musicians, including Kevin Max (DC Talk), David Manion (Kansas), and Robert Bond (Liberty Horses). As an added bonus, Evolver features a companion audio CD with song versions of each royalty-free construction kit.

11.01.09: 3KSTATIC: NOT ART OUT NOW @ DPULSE STORE

Following up the 2009 Sony release Evolver, the new 3kStatic digital-only release Not Art is released today, exclusively via the dPulse Recordings Online Store.

Including a collection of both all-new tracks and alternate versions initially recorded during the Evolver sessions, Not Art is assembled loosely as a concept album that presents the band's recognition of the influence of Dadaist art on earlier electronic music.
Not Art opens with four new tracks that evoke an early 90s-period retro/house approach, interspersed with spoken word samples.

The net result is not typical dance music, but rather a soundtrack to the band's underlying vibe - and a departure of sorts from their recent and more accessible output.

One notable exception is 'Identity Thieves', which employs crunchingly atmospheric guitars from Nerd Parade's Randy Garcia in an otherwise otherworldly stew of tribal downtempo elements and shimmering jazz house keys.

The album is available in DRM-free hi-fidelity 320kbps mp3 format and is priced at $8.99.

06.08.09: 3KSTATIC DECLARES HOLIDAY: 86TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DADA RIOT

Electronic collective 3kStatic have announced the declaration of 07.06.09 as a global holiday to commemorate the 86th Anniversary of the 1923 Dada Riot, the impending 2 millionth hit to the band's official site at

Beginning today and thru July 6, 3kStatic will transmit Dada-encoded messages exclusively via Twitter.

3kStatic.com will select the best of these messages quite by chance....and the selected message will enitle the "tweeter" to a free copy of the new 3kStatic album & sound library

10.27.08: 3KSTATIC ON NOMINATIONS BALLOT - 51st GRAMMY AWARDS

The 3kStatic album Voodoo Science is officially an entry candidate on the nominations ballot for the 51st GRAMMY® Awards, in the 'Best Electronic / Dance Album' category, where it joins releases from Junkie XL, Deadmau5, Daft Punk, Kaskade, Ladytron, The Orb and others.

With eight of the CD version's eleven tracks having charted on various retail sales reports - including 31 weeks at #1 for 'Showdown (feat. Parthenon Huxley)' at the former PlayiTonight.com and 9 weeks at #1 at Playdigital.com for 'Council Housed and Violent (feat. Vile Evils), Voodoo Science scored more charting tracks than any previous 3kStatic album, and spawned remix releases of the track 'The Big Space' on four different indie dance labels in 2008.

Official nominees for the 51st GRAMMY® Awards will be announced December 3, 2008.
